Cut to Order — 4 Yard Minimum

Every order is cut fresh from the roll in one continuous length, so you get a single uninterrupted piece with no seams or joins — not offcuts from someone else's board. Because each cut is made by hand to your order, we ask for a 4 yard minimum. Choose your length below:

How Much Fiberglass Do I Need?

At 27" wide, one layer runs roughly the length of your board plus about 6" for laps. A rough guide:

• Shortboard (5'8"–6'2"): ~2 yd per layer. A standard 4+4 deck / 4 bottom glass job needs 6 yards.
• Bigger shortboard or hybrid (6'2"–6'6"): ~2.25 yd per layer. Figure 8 yards for a three-layer lam.
• Two boards back to back: 10 yards covers a pair of shortboards with cloth to spare.
• Repairs & patches: 4 yards covers a lot of ding work and small panel jobs.

When in doubt, order a little long. E-Glass cuts and stores easily, and running short mid-lam is a bad afternoon.

What is the minimum order for fiberglass cloth?
4 yards. Every order is cut by hand from the roll in one continuous piece, so 4 yards is our smallest cut. Longer lengths ship at the same flat rate up to 10 yards.

Is 27" wide enough for my board?
27" suits standard shortboards and hybrids up to about 21" wide. If your board is wider than 21", step up to our 30" cloth so you have enough overhang to lap both rails cleanly.

Should I use 4 oz or 6 oz cloth?
4 oz is the choice for lightweight, high-performance shortboards. 6 oz is heavier and tougher, better suited to mid-lengths, longboards, and boards that take a beating. A common compromise is a 4+4 deck over a 4 oz bottom on a shortboard.

Does this work with epoxy or polyester resin?
Both. This E-glass is fully compatible with epoxy and polyester resin systems.

Will it glass clear?
Yes. This is an ultra-white glass that wets out completely transparent, so your foam, stringer and any resin work underneath stay visible.
