Speed Demon Performance Shortboard
Hybrid Performance Surfboard • 5-Fin Setup • Custom Surfboard
More speed on tap, less work to find it.
The Speed Demon is a custom hybrid performance surfboard built for surfers who want easy acceleration, fast rail-to-rail transitions, and all-around versatility.
Blending the paddle power and forgiveness of a hybrid with the responsiveness of a performance shortboard, it delivers speed on demand across a wide range of conditions.
The Speed Demon is designed to generate speed with minimal effort. A refined wider nose and tail increase planing area and improve paddle power, helping you get into waves earlier and carry momentum through slower sections.
Its balanced entry rocker creates easy wave entry, while the responsive exit rocker keeps the board lively and quick under the back foot. The result is a board that feels fast from the first pump without sacrificing control when the wave gets steeper.
A deep single concave flows into a double concave and subtle vee through the tail, generating lift, drive, and smooth rail transitions. Combined with medium performance rails and multiple fin options, the Speed Demon adapts easily to everything from playful waist-high runners to overhead surf.

First off, Brian is a great communicator. Calls you immediately to talk about what you are looking for in the model. Keeps you updated along the way as well. He honestly goes way out of his way for you - and it shows that he just loves what he's doing.
Secondly, the board came out as expected and if you ask for color - it is matched. (I did a rail band).
For how it rides: I'm a daily session kind of guy (and thankful I can). My opinion is based off my skill and what I can do. Been surfing 20+ years (37) and 150lbs at 5'6; not pro level by any means but love carving, snaps, and getting in the barrel. I ordered a 5'6" and the volume is around 26l. I've surfed on it almost every day for 20ish days. First waves were in pitching beach-break (4ft south swell)and this board loves speed. There's a good amount of rocker so I had no issue with pearling on late drops. Had some sessions at grandview on more 4-5ft swell and again, is fast. It was easy to get good carves and still keep up. with the face. I'm riding it as a quad.*
It is super responsive and will turn as hard as you want it to. I love the rounded nose due to feeling like I have an easier time getting back out quicker and I swear it takes late drops better - more forgiving if I'm a hair more forward than intended.
So, this board can totally surf smaller stuff super well. But, I would consider this a high performance board - as OR has labeled, and not a groveler.
If you are looking for a legitimate speed demon, this is it.
