Polyester Surfacing Agent (Wax Solution)

Convert your laminating resin into a hard-curing sanding resin with our Polyester Surfacing Agent. This essential additive is a specialized paraffin wax dissolved in styrene, designed specifically for the "hot-coat" or final coat phase of your surfboard build.

During the curing process, the wax in this solution will rise or "bloom" to the surface. This creates a critical barrier between the resin and the air, allowing the resin underneath to cure completely tack-free. Without this agent, the resin remains sticky, making it impossible to sand without gumming up your sandpaper.

Usage & Mixing:

  • Standard Ratio: Add 2 oz. of Surfacing Agent per 1 Gallon of Laminating Resin.
  • Compatibility: Works with all standard polyester resins, including Silmar and Reichhold.
