How Much Fiberglass Do I Need?

At 38" wide, one layer runs roughly the length of your board plus about 6" for laps. A rough guide:

• Mid-length or funboard (7'0"–8'0"): ~2.75 yd per layer. Figure 8 yards for a three-layer lam.
• Traditional longboard (9'0"): ~3.25 yd per layer. Plan on 10 yards for a full glass job.
• Log or glider (9'6"+): ~3.5 yd per layer. 10 yards covers deck and bottom; order two lengths for a double-6 deck.
• Repairs & heavy-duty deck patches: 4 yards goes a long way.

When in doubt, order a little long. E-Glass cuts and stores easily, and running short mid-lam is a bad afternoon.
